FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. How soon are we able to book your services?

We are able to book services up to a year out from the wedding date. For custom planning, services typically start after the booking date, or upon the custom schedule that was worked out in your contract.  For coordination, we begin services (3) months out from the wedding date.

Q. Why can’t we book out further than a year?

Life has a way of keeping us on our toes, doesn’t it? We’ve learned from recent years—hello, unexpected twists like COVID!—that flexibility is key. We also cherish our time for family and friends’ celebrations, just as we cherish our time with you. By focusing on the upcoming year, we ensure that we can give each event the attention and care it deserves, including yours!

Q. What is the difference between your “wedding coordination” and “day-of coordination”?

Everyone tends to call this something different- day-of, month-of, event management, etc. We just call it Wedding Coordination but we do believe it’s different from Day-of. We start 90 days out from the wedding date to ensure we have time to get up to speed on your event. From there, we schedule a kick-off planning meeting to review your contracts and develop the first draft of your timeline. Many walkthroughs are scheduled at least 30 days out so we also want to be on board to facilitate the scheduling and attending of this meeting. If we only start a month out, we don’t feel like we’d be prepared for that meeting. We have found three months is the perfect time to begin for Coordination! 

Q. Do you take on Full Planning & Design Clients?

At this time we are taking on clients who already have an established wedding date and venue. That said, we have amazing, local planner friends that we would love to recommend to you, so please let us know if you would like a recommendation.

Q. Can you give me some examples of what Custom Planning might look like?

Sure! It’s a little different for everyone, but it might look like:
- A Custom Vendor Package, Design Plan & Coordination
- Design Plan, Rehearsal dinner planning, Coordination
- Coordination plus vendor referrals
- Coordination plus advance communication 
...  there are so many options which is why we like to see where you are, ask your pain points and create a plan! 

Q. My venue has a coordinator. Do I need to hire my own?

Absolutely. We love working with venue coordinators as partners, but they have their own job to do. Typically they are working to oversee their own venue and/or catering staff and making sure other vendors are following the venue’s rules. If you have an off-site ceremony, they won’t be able to be there to get you down the aisle, check on you during hair and makeup, confirm with all of your vendors, put out your place cards and personal items, the list goes on. That job really belongs to a coordinator hired by you to make sure all of the details come together.

Q. Do you only work with certain vendors?

Nope! Over the last 15 years, we have created relationships with a plethora of vendors in all different price points and styles. While we do have some to-go vendors who have proven themselves to be tried and true over the years, we are always willing to meet with and work with the new vendors who may be the best fit for you.

Q. Are you able to help me plan a wedding on a short turnaround?

Absolutely! We actually love the challenge and have planned a wedding (for 250 guests!) in as quickly as 3 weeks! This is when it’s crucial to be really organized, be willing to make quick decisions and to partner with an experienced planner who has a wealth of experience and vendors at their fingertips!

You have done hundreds of weddings. Why do you still do them?

Honestly…it’s that hug at the end of the night. Seeing the bride or groom walk down the aisle to their person. Family brimming with joy. Friends who haven’t been together in over a decade all getting to spend special time. It’s the people.

Q. Do you travel out of the DC Metro Region?

Please inquire. We do not typically travel out of the VA, DC, MD region but there are certain locations that we will make an exception for, depending on the season.
